Equine Services

Equine Reproduction

Our teams in Malanda, Charters Towers and Edmonton clinics are equipped to assist you with your equine breeding enquiries. Dr Mick Ruppin in Malanda heads up our reproduction services across all clinics. Mick has a special interest in equine reproduction and has undertaken post-graduate courses in this area. He is also responsible for the introduction of our embryo transfer service in 2016. Dr Rochelle Jensen works at our Edmonton clinic and has undertaken advanced training in equine reproduction as well as all species.

Our full range of equine reproduction services includes:

  • Follicle scans and pregnancy testing
  • Artificial insemination (AI) with chilled and frozen semen.
  • Hysteroscopic AI.
  • Embryo transfer.
  • Stallion collection for chilled and frozen semen.
  • Problem breeder, pregnancy loss and infertility investigations.
  • Foetal sexing.

*Please Note: Not all services are available across all clinics. Please contact your nearest clinic for up-to-date information on what is available*

It is a requirement that mares bound for breeding services with our clinics be up to date with Hendra vaccinations to be able to fully support mares through the AI process as well as during foaling and post-natal care should any complications arise. For more information regarding our Hendra vaccination policy, please see our Equine Health services page for more information.
