• Artificial insemination (AI) with chilled and frozen semen
• Hysteroscopic AI
• Embryo transfer
• Stallion collection for chilled and frozen semen
• Problem breeders, pregnancy loss and infertility investigation
• Foetal sexing

Veterinarians Dr Mick Ruppin and Dr John Hosie head up the reproduction service. Mick has had a special interest in equine reproduction and has undertaken post-graduate courses in this area. Mick was responsible for the introduction of our embryo transfer service in 2016. John has interest in reproduction in all species and completed his Memberships of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Animal Reproduction in 2014.

As with dental procedures, it is a requirement that mares bound for breeding services with our clinics be up to date with the Hendra vaccinations to be able to have support throughout the AI process as well as during foaling should any complications arise.
